We regret to learn of the death of Mr. Richard Tillis, of this county, which occurred at 
his home last Tuesday night. He was about 65 years old and had resided in this county for 
a number of years, respected among his fellow men for his uprightness and strict integrity 
of character. He was a consistent member of the Primitive Baptist church at Mt. Horeb, 
where his remains were interred Wednesday afternoon. He had been a great sufferer for the 
last few years of his life, and death was doubtless welcomed by him when it came. He was a 
good citizen and our county is the loser by his death.
