I have established via the 1880 census that this Sims family was black. While there are but two stones, one is engraved on two sides with mother and son. The other is apparently a grand or great grandson. There is evidence of other burials here. Additional information and photographs of individual stones are available from submitter via email. SIMS, Elsie, b. 1849 d. 1889, w/o L. Sims, ss/w Joseph L. SIMS, Joseph L., b. 1870 d. 1903. (Since Joseph is listed as son in the 1880 census, it is presumed that this is he. There is a large Masonic emblem on Joseph's stone. Per the Marion County marriage index, Elsie's maiden name was Bell.) SIMS, Raymond Harold, b. 1923 d. 1958, "Florida Sgt, US Army, World War II"
