Dear Sir: I am in receipt of your letter of the 19th. instant, in which you ask for certain information regarding the service of Charley Barrow. You state in your letter that Mrs. Elizabeth Barrow is the widow of Charley Barrow, and that she applied for pension several years ago upon said service. In regard to this, I beg to advise that upon examination of the records of this office I find that Mrs. Mary E. Barrow of Morriston, Florida applied for pension several years ago upon the service of her husband Elijah Barrow. There seems to have been some confusion at that time as to the name of her husband, as she also sent proof concerning the service of Chas. Barrow. I am enclosing herewith copy of an affidavit which I find attached to this application, which appears to have been executed by you. You will note from this copy that you make affidavit to the fact that Mrs. Barrow is the widow of Elijah Barrow, and that she had not remarried since his death. I will be pleased to advise you concerning any of the records in this office upon request, and will appreciate it very much if you will straighten me in this matter. Yours very truly, Sec’y State Pension Board. Encl. Barrow, Morriston, Florida Dear Madam:- I have to advise you that the additional evidence filed by you does not show the service required. Additional proof was required and she submitted an affidavit relating to the service of one Charlie Barrow. Her husband was Elijah Barrow and the affidavits were of no benefit to her. She has no proof whatever that can be considered under the law and no record of her husband’s service can be obtained. Yours very truly, Secretary Page 022 Office of Walter F.
