Haws to go home for a short time and with such consent this affiant did go home and was at his home at Orange Springs Florida when the war closed. Affiant further states that his whereabouts was well known to his Capt. And that this affiant was subject to call at any time. Affiant further states that Capt. Haws is dead, and that he cannot make Page 021 proof by any one else of his absence from line of duty and as the consent which he obtained from his Captain was a verbal one. We furnished the same information as enclosed on S. J. Sellers in 1960 for a W. D. Phillips of Brewton, Alabama. This might be of interest to you. When a request comes in for a search on a veteran, we allow all the information from a file. When additional information is sought, our policy is to charge fifty cents per page which defrays the cost for the search. The copies enclosed are much over your remittance but we will accept this but any additional information we must charge according to the number of pages sent.
