On this 11 day of November, A. D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixteen personally
appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for the county and State
aforesaid, James F. Bruton, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he
is 67 years of age, having been born on the 11 day of May, 1849, in the county of
Marion, in the State of Florida.  That he is a bona fide citizen of the county of
Marion, State of Florida. That he has resided in the State of Florida continuously
since the 11 day of May, 1849.

That he is the identical person who enlisted at Priest Prairie Marion County under
the name of James Bruton, on the 15 day of October, 1863, in Company Thomas King,
Regiment None of the State of Florida in the service of the (Here state whether the
service claimed was in the Confederate States Army or in the service of a State.)
Confederate War or Civil War and who was honorably discharged at Priest Prairie
Marion Co., in the State of Florida, on the 15 day of May, 1865, on account of The
End of the War.

(Here state fully any other military service performed by applicant.)

October 1863, in Company Thomas G. Kings Regiment of the State of ………….., which
organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of
America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that James B. Bruton enlisted
in Company Kings Regiment of the State of Florida at Priest Prarie, in the State of
Florida on the 15 day of October, 1863; that he served faithfully in the said
organization until the 15 day of [October] May, 1865, when he was honorably
discharged on account of End of the War, at Priest Prarie in the State of Florida,
and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to
the United States before the close of the War.
