PORT ST. LUCIE - James "Jim" Pettorini, 82, of Port St. Lucie died Saturday, 
Dec. 30, 2000, in St. Lucie Medical Center.
        
A native of Beacon Falls , Conn. , he moved to this area 16 years ago from 
Naugatuck , Conn.
        
Before retirement, he was a courier for Uniroyal, Naugatuck .
        
He was a veteran of the Coast Guard and served during World War II.
        
He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie.
        
He was a member of the Beacon Falls Lions Club and the Beacon Falls Volunteer 
Fire Department.
        
He was predeceased by a son, Peter Pettorini.
        
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Pettorini of Port 
St. Lucie; four sons, Jim Pettorini and wife Paula of Chicago, George 
Pettorini and wife Kathleen of Carlsbad, Calif., John Pettorini and wife Gay 
of Kennebunk, Mass., and Richard Pettorini and wife Ann of Advance, N.C.; a 
daughter, Connie Hughes and husband Jeffrey of Watertown, Conn.; a brother, 
Levino Pettorini of Norwalk, Conn.; four sisters, Mary Citati, Connie Belanger 
and Carmel Pettorini, all of Naugatuck, and Mickey Mancero of Bethany, Conn.; 
seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
        
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Lucie Catholic 
Church, Port St. Lucie.
        
Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger L. Byrd Funeral Home, Port 
St. Lucie.
