Burial will be in Buford Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Giddens Funeral Home, 116 Riverdale Avenue. Mr. Hinson, who lived at 1473 Matson Avenue, died Saturday evening en route to a local hospital following a lingering illness. He was born in Fair Bluff, NC and had lived in Jacksonville for 10 years. He was a resident of Nassau County for 28 years before moving here. He was Baptist and a retired employee of Hercules Powder Co. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Hinson of Jacksonville, four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Grooms of Hilliard, Mrs. Ollette Stokes, Mrs. Claudette Jones, and Mrs. Gwendolyn Hodges, all of Jacksonville, two sons, Derrell Hinson and Ferrell Hinson, both of Jacksonville, two brothers, Ernest Hinson of Hilliard, and B. H. Hinson of Columbia, S.C., two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Hickox of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Louise Grooms of Hilliard, and eighteen grandchildren. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Braddy Manning, Ray Chester, Wendell McDonald, Jack Braddock, and Marvin Hinson; honorary Herbert Stokes, Ernest Stokes, H.J. Youngblood, C.C. Pugus, James Nix, and Colon Sykes.
