Davis The Adjutant General ******************************************************************************* April 2nd , 1923 Mrs. Ruth J. Broxson, Holt, Florida Dear Madam: Your application for pension was considered a day or two ago and denied on account of insufficient proof of war service. You have furnished the affidavit of one comrade of your husband's service from Feb. 2nd, 1861, to Feb. 30th, 1861, when the Law requires the affidavits of two comrades or affidavit of a commissioned officer. I will say further that there seems to be really less than one months service and the fact that his discharge was on account of bad health. The Law requires service of at least twelve months in actual line of battle or to have been in service when the war ended. Yours very truly, Secretary, State Board of Pensions *******************************************************************************
