D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and twenty-eight, personally appeared before me a Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid Henrietta Barnhill a resident of Laurel Hill (Route #4) County of Okaloosa State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of the General Pension Laws of Florida. That she is the lawful widow of Alexander Barnhill who enlisted under the name of Alexander Barnhill on the 1st day of May, 1862, in Company "D" First Florida Infantry Regiment of the State of Florida, at Camp Walton, and who was honorably discharged at (was taken sick at Bluff Springs, Fla., 186_, on account of sickness, and came home on furlough, and war ended before he was called back is my recollection. That he also served He was in the war from 1862 until about 1864, I do not remember just how long. He never made application for pension. That she was lawfully married to the said Alexander Barnhill under the name of Henrietta Harsy in the County of Santa Rosa (now Okaloosa) State of Florida on the ___ day of 1861, and that she was not divorced from him before nor has she remarried since his death, which occurred on the 12th day of March, 1905, in the County of Santa Rosa, State of Florida except as hereinafter stated. That she is a resident of Okaloosa County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the day of since before the year 1861. That she was heretofore granted a pension from the State of Florida under the Certificate No. _____. That she is not a pensioner from any other State. Never made application for pension before this. That her Postoffice address is Laurel Hill (Route # 4), County of Okaloosa State of Florida. Her mark: Sworn and subscribed before me this 10th day of April, A. D. 1928. I hereby certify that the above declaration, etc. was made known and fully explained to applicant before swearing, and that I have no interest, direct or indirect in the prosecution of this claim. Before me, a Notary Public, in and for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared before me, Mrs. Amanda Martin, who being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says, each to himself, that he knows of his own personal knowledge of the death of Alexander Barnhill which occurred at near Blackman, County of Okaloosa (formerly Santa Rosa), State of Florida, on the 12th day of March, A. Turner was present at the wedding ceremony which united Mr. A. Barnhill, and Miss. Henrietta Harsy, as husband and wife at or near Blackman, Florida, which was at that time Santa Rosa County. Turner well known to me to be the individual described in above and upon oath that the foregoing is true and correct statement. S. J. Davis and S. J. Cain who being by me first duly sworn deposes and says that he was personally acquainted with A. Barnhill, during his lifetime who was born Sept., 30th., 1838, and died March 12th., 1905, and that during my acquaintance with the said A. Barnhill he resided in what is now Okaloosa County, Florida, and that Henrietta Barnhill is the wife of the said A. Barnhill. Signed: R. W. Davis S. J. Respectfully returned to the Comptroller, Department of Pensions of Fla., Tallahassee, Fla. The records show that Alexander Barnhill, pvt. Co. D, 1st Fla. Inf., Confederate States Army, enlisted May 1, 1862, at Camp Walton, and on muster roll for Jan. & Feb. 1864, (last on file), is shown absent, and under Remarks: "Sent to Hospital, July 20, 1862, supposed to be in the enemy's lines".
