J. Franklin, respectfully represents to your honorable board that he is a resident citizen of Crenshaw County, in the State of Alabama, and that he resided in said State on the first day of January in the year 1899. That he enlisted in the service of the State, or Confederate States, as a private in company "B" in the 25th Regiment on the 1st day of Sept. 1861 at New Providence in the State of Alabama, and that he was honorably discharged from such service on the ____ day April 1865, that he did not desert the service of the Confederate States, or of the State of Alabama; That he was wounded at the battle of Franklin in the State of Tennessee. That he is now unable to make a living by manual labor on account of ? and old age; That he is at the time of filing this application 62 years of age, and that his postoffice is Luverne, Alabama: That his annual income does not exceed four hundred ($400) dollars, and that he has no children upon whom he can depend for support. Your petitioner files herewith a complete schedule of all the property owned by himself and wife. In consideration of the foregoing facts, your petitioner asks that his name be placed upon the pension rolls in the class that your honorable board may adjudge him to belong, that he may participate in the division of the fund provided for the relief of Confederate and Alabama soldiers and their widows, by act of the General assembly approved February 10, 1899. Walker Judge of Probate In and for said State and County ******************************************************************************* Widow's Pension Claim Under The Act Of 1917 FORM A State of Florida,} County of Okaloosa} On this 11th day of December, A. D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty, personally appeared before me, a notary public in and for the County and State aforesaid Sarah A. Franklin a resident of Okaloosa County State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 7259, Laws of Florida, approved June 7, 1917. That she is the lawful widow of J. J. Franklin who enlisted under the name of J. J. Franklin on the 1st day of September, 1861, in Company B 25th Regiment of the State of Alabama and who was honorably discharged at April, 1865, on account of surrender or close of the war. That she was lawfully married to the said J. J. Franklin under the name of Sarah A. Tisdale in the County of Crenshaw State of Alabama on the 14 day of April 1875, and that she was not divorced from him before nor has she remarried since his death, which occurred on the 23rd day of Oct., 1901, in the County of Crenshaw, State of Alabama except as hereinafter stated. That she is a resident of Okaloosa County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ____ day of 1911. That she was heretofore granted a pension from the State under Certificate No. ____. That she is a pensioner of the State of Ala.
