Dear Madam: I regret very much indeed to advise that your application has been considered by the Pension Board and denied on account of the fact that it appears that the organization in which your husband served was a "Home Guard of Georgia and no proof is submitted that said organization served in the Confederate service, and also because of insufficient residence. The law requires that a soldier must have rendered some service to the Confederate States Army in order to be entitled to pension under the laws of this State.
