Cary A. Hardee, Tallahassee, Fla. Dear Governor: Some weeks ago J. C. McDaniel, an old Confederate Veteran, and citizen of this place, filed his application to be placed upon the pension roll of Florida with Mr. Amos. He waited several days, and wrote Mr. Amos about it, and he wrote the old man that his case, or application, had not been passed upon by the Board, and intimated that it was indefinite when the Board would meet and pass upon it. This old man is about 80 years old, and having a pretty hard struggle to get a living, and I will appreciate very much if you can get the Board together at an early date and pass upon his application, as he can only draw a pension from the time his application is approved, and he needs the money, and has not very much longer to live at best. Anything that you can do to hasten the matter will be greatly appreciate by the old man, and by myself. Yours very truly, T. R. James ******************************************************************************* As Recorder of ? - Alabama Division ? D. C.
