D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and twenty-two personally appeared before me, a County Judge in and for the county and State aforesaid, Stephen J. Manning, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 75 years of age, having been born on the 3rd day of November, 1846, in the county of Pike, in the State of Alabama. That he is a bona fide citizen of the county of Okaloosa, State of Florida. That he has resided in the State of Florida continuously since the ____ day of November, 1860. That he is the identical person who enlisted at Pollard, Ala., under the name of Stephen J. Manning, in the fall of 1864, in Company I, Regiment 15th Conf. Cavalry of the State of Florida in the service of the Confederate States Army and who was not discharged but was sent home by Lieut. Hutto, and when I got home the war was ended. This was sometime in the year, 1865 on account of war closing. (Here state fully any other military service performed by applicant.) I was a young soldier in the Calvary. That I served faithfully until close of war from the service of the above company and regiment in the year 1865, and did not desert the service of the Confederate Calvary nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States until after the surrender of the Confederate Armies. (Here state whereabouts at close of Civil War.) That I was at or near home in Florida, when I was sent home the officers told me to go until I was notified to report, and the war was closed when I got home. That I do not own property, including real estate, personal property, stocks, bonds, mortgages or other collateral securities of any kind in this or any other State, nor does my wife own with me jointly or separately, property to exceed in value the sum of five thousand dollars. That the following is a true and correct statement of all the property owned by me or by my wife, jointly and separately in this or any other State: Real estate, located at 80 acres land in Okaloosa Co., Fla. . . . . . $ 800.00 My wife's recently inherited cash . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $1500.00 Cattle, horses and other livestock. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 40.00 Personal property household goods . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 150.00 Total . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $2490.00 That I have heretofore applied for a pension from the State of Florida and refer to Claim No. ____ for the proof contained therein. Manning who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he was a commissioned officer with the rank of private in Company I, 15th Confederate Calvary Regiment of the State of Florida during the War between the States of the United States; that he was enlisted at Pollard, in the State of Alabama, on the ____ day of September 1864, and that he was commissioned ____ in the above company and regiment on the ____ day of ____ 186_, and that he was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at ____ on the ____ day of ____, 1865, by reason of war being over. (FORM E) Affidavit to be Made by Comrade State of Fla.} County of Okaloosa} Before me, a N. P. in and for the State and County aforesaid, personally came J. B. Clary of Okaloosa County of Laurel Hill, State of Fla. who, being duly sworn according to laws, declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Pollard in the State of Ala. about first day of April 1862, in Company I 15th Conf. Calvary Regiment of the State of Fla., which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that Stephen J. Manning enlisted in Company I, 15th Calvary Regiment of the State of Fla. at Pollard, in the State of ala., on the 1st day of Sept., 1864; that he served faithfully in the said organization until the 1st day of April, 1865; when he was HONORABLY DISCHARGED on account of close of war, at Pollard in the State of Ala., and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. I know personally of the above stated service, because I served with Stephen J. Manning in Company I 15th Conf. Calvary of the State of Fla., and was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at Pollard, in the State of Ala., on the 1st day of April, 1865, by reason of war closing, and I did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. Malcolm Morrison N. P. (FORM F) Affidavit to be Made by Comrade State of Florida} County of Santa Rosa} Before me, a notary public in and for the State and County aforesaid, personally came A. L. Fleming of Santa Rosa County, State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Blackwater in the State of Florida on the ____ day of September 1864 in Company E 15h Regiment Conf. Regiment of the State of Florida, which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that Stephen J. Manning enlisted in Company I 15th Confederate Regiment of the State of Florida at Pollard, in the State of Alabama, on the 1st day of September, 1864; that he served faithfully in the said organization until the 1 day of April, 1865; when he was HONORABLY DISCHARGED on account of breaking of the war, at close to Pollard in the State of Alabama, and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. I know personally of the above stated service, because I served with Stephen J. Manning in Company E Regiment 15 of the State of Florida and was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at Vicksburg, in the State of Miss., on the 15 day of May, 1865, by reason of being a prisoner, and I did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. May 1, 1865 and is shown to have been received at Camp Townsend, a paroled prisoner, for exchange, May 6, 1865. Date of enlistment or parole not shown. J. B. Clary, not borne as John B. Clary, prt. Co. D, (Capt. Amos), 3 Battn. Fla. Cav. C. S. A. enlisted Oct. 4, 1862, in Santa Rosa Co. Fla. The above orgn. about Sept. 1863, became by consolidation Co. 8, 15 Regt. Conf.
