On this 18th day of Feb., A.D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and 43, personally appeared before me a notary public in and for the County and State aforesaid Mrs. Betty C. Owens a resident of Niceville, County of Okaloosa, State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of the General Pension Laws of Florida. That she is the lawful widow of W. L. Owens who enlisted under the name of W. L. Owens on the Not shown day of 1864, in Company Jones' Home Guard Company Regiment of the State of Florida and who was honorably discharged at Near Marianna during the close of the war, 1865, on account of the close of the war. That she also served for proof of husband's war services, refer to Pension Claim No. 8649, filed in the Comptroller's Office. That she was lawfully married to the said W. L. Owens under the name of Bettie Phillips in the County of Bullock, State of Ala. On the 19th day of April 1892, and that she was not divorced from him before nor has she remarried since his death, which occurred on the 18th day of Dec., 1942, in the County of Okaloosa, State of Fla., except as hereinafter stated. That she is a resident of Okaloosa County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ___ day of May 1902. If divorced state when March 1, 1935 and where Crestview, Florida. That she was heretofore granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. That she is not a pensioner of any other State. That her Postoffice address is Niceville, County of Okaloosa, State of Florida. Her mark: Mrs. Betty C. Owens Attest: (1) Lula Edge (2) Parker D. I hereby certify that the above declaration, etc., was made known and fully explained to the applicant before swearing and that I have no interest, direct or indirect, in the prosecution of this claim.
