Gen. Avery Delano Andrews, died at home, 500 N. Interlachen Ave., Winter Park, Wednesday night. Mrs. Andrews was one of Winter Park's most beloved women and a member of All Saints' Church during her residence here. She was the daughter of the late Lt. Gen. John M. Schofield, Secretary of War in 1868 and '69, and Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1876 to 1881. Her husband, General Andrews, was assistant cheif-of-staff to Gen. John J. Pershing in 1918, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Honor (France), and Order of the Crown (Belgium and Italy). Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Schofield Andrews of Philadelphia and Delano Andrews of New York, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services are in charge of Fairchild Funeral Home, final arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of her sons.
