B.G. Brown, 76, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at his home in Clinton, Missouri. Rev. Brown was born December 7, 1931, in Miami, Florida, to William L. and Mildred G. Brown. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Morgan, on August 28, 1953, at Delaney Street Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida. His beloved Diane continues to reside at their home in Clinton. During the Korean War, Rev. Brown served in the United States Navy, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Mississippi in Norfolk, Virginia. During his Navy years, he befriended many spirit-filled Christian young people who encouraged his growth in the Lord. His hunger for God continued all his life. Rev. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958 from Stetson University, Deland, Florida, and his Master of Divinity degree in 1962 from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. Rev. Brown served his Lord and Savior as a pastor from 1954 until he retired in September 2006. His last pastorate was at Corinth Baptist Church, Chilhowee, Missouri. In addition to his wife, survivors include their three children, David M. Brown, Dallas, Texas, Debra A. Howerton (and husband, Jim), Chilhowee, and Daniel R. Brown, also of Chilhowee. Rev. Brown was "Papa" to nine surviving grandchildren, Megan Diane Hodges (and husband, Brian), Danica Morgan Brown, Jennifer Howerton Morris (and husband, Aaron), James Michael Howerton, Jonathan Mason Howerton (and wife, Stacey), David Andrew Howerton, Erin Brown Hocker (and husband, Jeremy), Michelle Elizabeth Brown, Katherine Brown Pippitt (and husband, Colby). Three great-grandchildren survive: Chandler Brown, Ethan Hocker, and Emmrie Hocker. Rev. Brown is also survived by a sister, Patricia A. Daniels; an aunt, Mary Frances Keith; and by many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Rev. Brown's life will be held Saturday, July 19th, 1PM, at Rosemont Baptist Church, 4236 N. John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida.
