He was born January 21, 1925, in Dallas, Ga., the son of the late James Russell McMichen and the late Rachel Louise Tulula Poole. He was a forester by profession and a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Grahamville, S. C. He was a retired Forester - Okeetee Club, retired from Union Camp Corporation, a graduate of Florida State University, and a graduate of Florida Tech. He was an U. S. Army veteran of W.W.I. Survivors include, two sons, James D. McMichen, Orlando, Fla., and Richard E. McMichen, Easley, S. C.; three brothers, B. L. McMichen, Cecil McMichen, and Alton McMichen, all of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Donald E. Walker, Jr., and Cecilee J. McMichen. Services will be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Friday, July 13, 2001, at 11 a.m. Burial in Grahamville Cemetery, Ridgeland, S. C. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at SAULS FUNERAL HOME, RIDGELAND. (The Post and Courier July 11, 2001)
