        J. W. B. SHAW, was born in Osceola County, Florida, August 26, 1890, a 
son of D. J. and ALAN (UPSON) SHAW. The father was born in India, but was 
reared in England, and the mother was born at Akron Ohio. They had five 
children, of whom J. W. B. SHAW is the eldest born. He was admitted to the bar 
in 1917, and enlisted in the United States army for service during the World 
war.
