Jasper Alman was David's brother, not his father. The informant knew very little about David Alman. On the 1880 Orange Co.,Fl.census David was in the household of his mother, Sarah Alman. David was shown as 24 yrs. old (b. 1856) on this census and was listed as Sarah's son. Jasper Alman was only abt. 12-13 yrs. older than David, so that is not possible that Jasper was his father. David's father, William Alman died in 1869. David was only abt.13-16 years old when his father died, so his older brother probably took some of the parenting help needed.
