It is now St. Leo University in the newly incorporated town of St Leo, Florida. Therefore, from Dade City, driving west on SR 52, turn in at the main school entrance, keeping to the right. Pass the baseball field (on your right, bearing left around the maintenance area following the narrow road. All of the markers are "grass top "level, with the exception of the Abbots graves. They are marked with raised tombstones and a large statue of Christ On The Cross. The original cemetery begun in 1889 was moved to its present location in 1901 and is considered by many to be located in the most beautiful setting of all Pasco cemeteries. One-lane road winds its way down toward Lake Jovita past the little graveyard where some Benedictine priests, monks and Sisters of the Benedictine order have found rest for over 100 years. An old stonewall surrounds the grounds and makes a beautiful backdrop for bromeliads, all shaded by ancient oaks and Red Cedar trees. The wall and cedar trees, themselves now lie in the ground where once they toiled. I am departing from the usual method of arranging names in alphabetical order, to listing the names in the order of their demise. Hope this does not create too much confusion. I also want to add, that, while the majority of those interred here were from the Abbey, there are a number of burials of people that for one reason or another lived on the grounds or worked for the Abbey. For several, there is no other information. If you note discrepancies, you may E-mail me at bsr4sure@gte.net. I will make every effort to correct the information.
