Directions: From US 19, in Hudson, drive east on Hudson Ave. for approximately 
4 miles. The cemetery is on the right (south side) and enclosed behind a 
sturdy fence. There is ample room to park your vehicle outside the fence but, 
if desired, you may drive onto the grounds. In either case, please close and 
secure the gate upon leaving. 

Situated on a busy county road, this little cemetery is none the less fairly 
well maintained. There has been considerable gravestone damage, however, there 
has also been a lot of repair work and its apparent that some one is making an 
effort to keep it as clean as possible. There are a number of unknown graves.

A marker informs: "A church and a cemetery were established here in 1880. Stephen 
P. Douglas who died in 1889 is the earliest marked burial. In 1890 Abraham and 
Susanna Bellamy donated land to the Methodist Episcopal Church, in memory of her
parents Joseph and Susanna Vereen. A building completed in 1891, served as the
community's church and for some years, as a public school, until it was destroyed 
by a forest fire in 1920."

Special Note: With Vereen Cemetery, this ends the surveys of Pasco Cemeteries that 
I began 9 years ago. I have tried to thank all those that helped it in any capacity 
as I went along, for I truly am grateful. It has been quite an experience. I have 
met some nice people along the way and have a lot of stories I could tell, and may
someday. Working on this project kept me going when all I wanted to do was wrap my 
self in a blanket of sorrow because I was losing my only sister. Guess I don't have 
to tell you that this effort is dedicated to her memory .....
