M. Abbott do hereby make application to the State Board of Pensions for a pension, to be granted to me under the act of 1907, Chapter 5600 of the Laws of Florida, on the following grounds: I am the widow of Dr. J. M. Abbott deceased, who departed this life on the 4th day of January A. D. 1907, in the county of Pasco in the State of Florida. I was married to him on the 7th day of September A. D. 1875 in the county of Hill, in the State of Texas. I have not remarried since the death of my husband Dr. J. M. Abbott. My husband, the said Dr. J. M. Abbott, enlisted and served in the Military-mounted Infantry service of the States of Kentucky and Tennessee and other states during the war between the States of the United States, and he did not desert the Confederate or State service. I have been a resident of the State of Florida for ten consecutive years prior to the date of this application, and that I am not receiving a pension from any other State. Mrs. J. M. Abbot Applicant. What is your name, and where and when were you born? Mrs J. M. Abbott and I was born in Hill county, state of Texas. 2. Are you the widow of Dr. J. M. Abbott? Yes 3. When and where were you married to. I was married to Dr. J. M. Abbott on the 7th day of September, 1875, in Hill county, Texas. 4. When and where did he die? In the of Trilby, Pasco county, Florida, on the 14th day of January, 1907. 5. Have you remarried since the death of your husband? No 6. When and in what company or organization did your husband enlist during the war between the states? Sometime in 1862, he enlisted in the Company "E" Fifth Kentucky Infantry, Service Brigade Borde Corps, Elected 2nd Lieutenant 1862, was promoted to first lieutenant, 1863, and to Capt. In 1864. 7. Did he desert that service? No. 8. Of what State and county are you a resident? State of Florida, County of Pasco 9. How long have you resided in this state? About twenty (24) four years 10. From what date have you continuously resided in this State? Since 1883 11. Have you lived in any other State than Florida? Yes 12. Abbott, (name also borne as J. M. Abbott) served as 3d lieutenant, 2nd lieutenant and captain, Company E, 5th Kentucky Mounted Infantry, C.S.A., was enlisted September 5, 1862. On the roll of the company for the month of September and October 1864, last roll on file, he is reported captain, present. No later record of him has been found. F. C. That she is the widow of J. M. Abbott who was enlisted under the name of Joseph M. Abbott on the ____ day of September, 1862, in Company E fifth Regiment of the State of Kentucky and who was honorably discharged at ____, 186_, on account of ____. (Here give complete statement of other service if any.) That he also served ____. That she was lawfully married to the said J. M. Abbott under the name of J. Varnell in the county of Hill, State of Texas on the 7th day of Sept, 1875, and that she was not divorced from him and that she has not remarried since his death, which occurred on the 4th day of Jan, 1907, in the County of Pasco, State of Florida. That she is a resident of Pasco County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ____ day of October 1884. That she does not own property, including real estate, personal property, mortgages or other collateral securities, stocks or bonds in this or any other State to exceed in Value the sum of Five thousand Dollars.
