Location:  140 - 4th Street North.  Easiest route would be to travel South 
on US Hwy 19 into St. Petersburg to Central Avenue.  Go East on Central (left) 
to Third Street North.  Go North on Third Street to 2nd Avenue.  Turn East on 
2nd (2nd Avenue is one way going East) the church is on the corner of 2nd Avenue 
and 4th Street N.

Notes:  The parish of St. Peter was born in 1889 as an unorganized mission 
established by St. Bartholomew's.  It was originally known as the Church of 
the Holy Spirit.  The wooden chapel was constructed on property donated by 
Jacob Baum at 11th Street and Baum Avenue.  In 1894 the mission formally 
organized and renamed the Church of St. Peter.  The location was moved to 
its permanent location at Fourth Street and Second Avenue N.  In 1899 the 
new church was complete.  St. Peter's became an official parish church in 
1906.  In 1925 the church was enlarged to its present size, nearly doubling 
in length.  

The Memorial Garden was dedicated in 1993.  84 interments were recorded by 
Pinellas Genealogy Society Chair Lesleigh Laite Butts on May 24, 2001.  
Photographs of the Memorial Garden and Plaque were taken and obituaries 
researched.
