Kelderhouse, aged 62, of Saintnuclear solution Petersburg, FL, died May 27 at Woodside Hospice of cancer. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Tim Tweeddale; grandchildren, Lauren and Ian Tweeddale. Tom, a paraplegic, was founder of the Grand Rapids Wheelchair Athletic Association and the Grand Rapids pacers Wheelchair Basketball Team. A top ranked tennis player and bowler, he was also a gold medal winner in archery in the 1968 Paralympics in Tel Aviv, Israel. Tom was a past chairman of the State of Michigan Barrier Free Design Board, pas board member for the Center for Independent Living, Grand Rapids Wheelchair Tennis Foundation, Metropolitan Alternative Housing, and State Technical Institute. He was a member of many associations for the physically handicapped and civic organizations. Mr Kelderhouse was the former president of Active Re-Employment Consultants prior to his Florida retirement. Tom served as a mentor to many people with a variety of disabilities. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Saint Andrew's Cathedral, 267 Sheldon Ave. SE, Grand Rapids., Rev. Tom Bolster, celebrant.
