Mr. COLLINS was born at Racine, Wisconsin, June 5, 1892, son of Dr. W. P. and GRACE (KENNEDY) COLLINS. His parents were also born in Wisconsin, and his father is still living. Paul Collins is the second in a family of four children. He was reared in Racine, attended grammar school there, was a student in the University of Wisconsin, and after coming to Florida entered the University of Florida, where he graduated in 1917. His home was at Haines City in Polk County until he located at Lakeland. Mr. COLLINS early in the war was commissioned a first lieutenant in Company F of the Three Hundred Twenty-sixth Infantry, went overseas with the Eighty-second Division, and was in France fourteen months. He was in some of the most important engagements in which the American forces were engaged. During the Argonne Forest battle he was wounded, and for three months was in a hospital. His elder brother was killed during the war. Mr. COLLINS after leaving the army located at Lakeland in 1919, and on November 1, 1920, organized the Growers Supply Company, of which he is president and manager. This company handles a general line of supplies for troops and vegetable growers in this section of Florida and does both a wholesale and retail business. Mr. COLLINS owns several citrus groves. In 1921 he married Miss LELA COLEMAN of Racine, Wisconsin. They have one son, EDMOND RICHARD. Mr. COLLINS is affiliated with the Elks, the Rotary Club, the Woodmen of the World and the Chamber of Commerce.
