Tatum Enlistment: 6th August 1862 in Company "C", 53rd Regiment of Alabama (Partisan Rangers) and that he also served in Company "C" 24 Battalion Alabama Cavalry Discharge: Montgomery, Alabama on May 18, 1865 Note: did not draw a pension from any other state Marriage: W. H. Tatum to Nancy Elizabeth Smith in Sumpter County, Georgia on the 15th of April, 1888 Veterans Death: 4th December 1904 in Tift County Georgia She has been a resident of: Putnam County since the 13th of March 1925 Claim for Pension Filed: Feb 10 1934 Approved: June 11 1934 With pay from: Feb 10 1934 At the rate of: $480.00 per annum Signed: Roumelle Bowen, Secretary of Board ***************************** WAR DEPARTMENT Washington February 15, 1934 The records show that W. H. Tatum, Private, Company "C", 53 Regiment Alabama Partisan Rangers, Confederate States Army, was enlisted August 6, 1862, at Pineflat, also shown as Montgomery, Alabama, by Colonel M. W. Hannor. He was transferred November 10, 1863, to Company "C" 24 Battalion Alabama Cavalry. He was in service as late as December 29, 1864, as shown by C.S.A. records. He was paroled May 18, 1865, at Montgomery, Alabama as 1st Sergeant. Signed: James F.
