D., JAMES N. During his practice at Sanford Doctor Robson's career has been more than an ordinary routine of responsibility and duty well performed. His youthful years were spent in Charleston, where he learned and followed the drug business for some years before taking up medicine. He was born at Charleston, South Carolina, June 24, 1871, son of JAMES N. ROBSON, Sr., a native of South Carolina, and son of an Englishman who settled in that state. JAMES N. ROBSON, Sr., married ELIZA WIGHTMAN, of an old South Carolina family. The father, who died in 1901, was for many years a member of J. N. Robson & Son, commission merchants at Charleston. Youngest in a family of four sons and four daughters. Dr. JAMES N. ROBSON was reared and educated in Charleston. His oldest brother lost his life in the great Charleston earthquake in 1885. Doctor Robson graduated in 1897 from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy, and he was a pharmacist and druggist until he took up the study of medicine. He spent one year in the Medical College of Charleston, two years in the Atlanta Medical College and in 1907 graduated M. D. from the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee. For about two years he was engaged in practice at Union, South Carolina, and since 1908 has given his valued professional services to Sanford. While engaged in general practice he conducted a private sanitarium, and is a specialist in women's and children's diseases. He did post-graduate work in Tulane University at New Orleans in 1918, and is a member of the Orange County and State Medical societies. Doctor Robson married OLIVE HUDGINS, of Orangeburg, South Carolina, who died soon after their marriage. In 1900 Miss PEARL BREEDIN, of Manning, South Carolina, became his wife. They have a family of six sons and two daughters. Doctor Robson is a Presbyterian, while Mrs. Robson belongs to the Episcopal Church. He is affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Woodmen of the World and with other orders.
