St. Lucie County Tribune July 28, 1905
Thursday morning a party including Mrs. R. Whyte and little daughter; Mrs. S. 
W. Jennings and Miss Ina, Mr. Ball and family, met at the Riverview Hotel dock 
where they embarked on O. O. Poppleton's launch for the clam banks just below 
the inlet. A quantity of clams were secured and some beautiful shells were 
gathered. The party reached home about 11 o'click, all feeling that they had 
had a most pleasant time.
