D. 1836, for the term of Four months, and was honorably discharged at Lower Springs, on the ____ day of Sept, A.D. 1836. No 1. That being duly enlisted, as aforesaid, he actually served thirty days with the Army or Navy of the United States, in the war as above stated, which service was as follows: Scouting through the country after the Seminole Indians No 2. That he was personally named in the resolution of Congress for a specific service in said war, to wit: In the resolution of the 27 day of July, 1892, and was honorably discharged, as above That he has never served in the Army, Navy, or Marine Corps of the United States, otherwise than as above stated, except ______ The he has _____ heretofore made application for pension No. 238936; that he makes this declaration for the pupose of being placed on the Pension- roll of the United States under the provision of the Act of July 27, 1892. That since his discharge from said service he has resided as follows, to wit: At the Lower Springs in Columbia County, Florida and at the present at Centre Hill Florida. That he hereby appoints, with full power of substitution and revocation, Tucker Evans & Monague of Washington, D.C. his true and lawful attoneys, to prosecute his claim. Additional Comments: Caleb Griffin previously applied for an Invalid's pension for asthma contracted while in service along the Suwannee River. He never received an Invalid's pension but was awareded a pension of $8.00 per month as a survivor of the Indian Wars under the Act of July 27, 1892. Indian War Survivor's pension No. 1345. Caleb was dropped from the rolls due to his death on 04 August 1898.
