George W. Townsend, 78, of Bushnell. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; 
daughters, Brenda Kay Lucas of Oakland and Deana Sue Murphy of Wildwood; 
brothers, Robert F. of Ocala and Thomas of Seven Rivers, N.C.; sisters, Barbara 
Summerfield of Gainesville, Eve Jo Poe of Pikesville, Ky., and Garnette Howell 
and Freeda Miller both of Muncie, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
He was a retired Amtrak conductor and a member of Wahoo Baptist Church, and 
Kentucky Colonel.



He was an Army Airborne veteran of World War II and the Air force in Korea.



Graveside services with full military honors in Florida National Cemetery in 
Bushnell.
