I do however Transcribe any and all Document's as to their exact wording and spelling. I fix a spelling error were possible but the way it is written in the Document is the way you will find them in the Courthouse. Also were the words are illedgeable you will find a Blank Line or a Question Mark. You will also note that Sumter County use to be spelled with a ( P ) in it (eg: Sumpter) as you will find in the document's. I would also like to note that this Document has notations in it about Slave's and the Sale of Such, But the word may be offensive to some people. This is not my intention, but one must see that this is a part of our history and someone might be looking for these people, so please understand that I will note the facts of a legal document. Court of Probate, to sell the Real Estate of John Mobley - deceased, consisting in all of about Seven Hundred & Twenty Acers of Land; Also the Entire Personal Effects of said deceased consisting of Five Negroes; To Wit: (names are as follow) James, William, Milly and her two Children - together with Horses, Cattle, Hogs, Sheep, ungined Cotton and all other __?__ of property belonging to said Estate.The object of selling the entire Effects of said Estate, is to have an Equal distribution of said Estate amoungest the Heirs thereof, of there are Seven, To Wit: Zilphy Mobley, widow of the deceased, who has chosen a Childs Part and six children, all of whom are of age, except one, namely Frances and she is desirous to have a Guardian appointed by the Probate Court; All of said heirs are desirous of having the Entire Effects of the Estate Sold - so that after the lawfull debts against said Estate shall have been liquidated - They can receive their distributive Shares. Where you find these notation's, these are Rightful Heirs to the property as listed above and they have agreed to have these amounts deducted from the remaining Distribution of the Estate as you will see in Further Documents that I am in the process of Transcribing. You will see that 2 of the Heirs have different last names ( eg: Clay and Collins ) , we still are not sure of the relationship of these two people. I am hoping to find this information in further Research.
