Harper , Pensioner No. 2007 of the State of Florida hereby make application for increase in pension because of being unable to earn a livelihood by manual labor. I am 75 years of age. Peyton, and Dr. Jas. a. Davis, both well known to me to be reputable licensed physicians and each for himself deposes and says that the above applicant for increase in pension has been examined by him and that said applicant by reason of disease, injuries or age is unable to earn a livelihood by manual labor. One Thousand Nine Hundred and Nine, personally appeared before me Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid, Susan Harper, resident of McAlpin, County of Suwannee, State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 5885, Laws of Florida approved June 7, 1909. That she is the lawful widow of G. N. Harper, who was enlisted under the name of G. N. Harper, on the ___ day of ____, 1861, in Company N Fifth, Regiment of the State of Georgia Voluneers One Year and who was honorably discharged at Chicago, Ill., 1865 on account of surrender. That he also served three years in R. H. Whitely’s Battalion of Sharpshooters. That she was lawfully married to the said G. N. Harper under the name of Susan Harrell, in the town of Decatur, State of Georgia, on the ___ day of _____, 1866, and that she was not divorced from him and that she has not remarried since his death, which occurred on the _____ day of _____, 1879, in the County of Decator, State of Georgia. That she is a resident of Suwannee County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since _____ day of February., 1894. ********************************************************************** That she does not own property including real estate, personal property, mortgages or other collateral securities, stocks or bonds in this or any other State to exceed in value the sum of Five Thousand Dollars. D., 1808, in the county of Decatur, in the State of Georgia. I have not remarried since the death of my said husband, G. N. Harper. My husband, the said G. N. Harper, enlisted and served in the military service of the Army of Tennepec (?) , during the war between the States of the United States and he did not desert the Confederate or State service. I have been a resident of the State of Florida for ten consecutive years prior to the date of this application, and that I am not receiving a pension from any other State. Where does she reside and how long has she been a resident of this State? 4. Were you acquainted with her husband? Yes I was. Each of us. 5. Where and to whom was she married? G. N. Harper 6. Is he dead? If so, when and where did he die? He is dead in about 1880 in Decatur Co., Ga. 7. Was he a solider or sailor in the State or Confederate service during the war between the States? Yes he was. 8. When did he enlist and in what organization? on May 11th, 1861 5 Regt. Georgia Volunteers. ********************************************************************** 9. When was he discharged and for what cause? Remained in Camps until close of war. 10. Where and in what campaigns did he perform regular military duty? in Tennessee in the Western Campaign. 11. Were either or both of you members of the same Company or Regiment with him? We were both with him. 12. Did he desert the Confederate or State service? No he did not. 13. Were either of you with the command when it surrendered? We was there – Homer Brooks – J. N. Maxwell not present. 14. Was G. N.
