D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and 24, personally appeared before me, a notary public in and for the County and State aforesaid Laura Waters a resident of Lake Butler County of Union State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of the General Pension Laws of Florida as amended by Chapter 8400, Acts of 1921. That she is the lawful widow of John Waters who enlisted under the name of John Waters on the 14 day of Feby., 1863, in Company "H" Ninth Florida Regiment of the State of Florida and who was honorably discharged at Farmville, Va., 186_, on account of war closed. That she was lawfully married to the said John Waters under the name of Laura Gaskins in the County of Bradford State of Florida on the 10 day of Feby. 1863, and that she was not divorced from him before nor has she remarried since his death, which occurred on the ____ day of about 1869, in the County of ____, State of Florida except as hereinafter stated. That she is a resident of Union County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ____ day of 1869. That she was heretofore granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. ____. That she is not a pensioner of any other State. Dowling Clerk Circuit Court ******************************************************************************* (FORM E) Affidavit to be Made by Comrade State of Florida} County of Union} Before me, a notary public in and for the State and County aforesaid, personally came Isaac Waters, of ____ County of Union State of Florida who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Lake City in the State of Florida on the ____ day of ____, in Company H, ninth Florida Regiment of the State of ____, which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that John Waters enlisted in Company "H" 9th Fla. Regiment of the State of Fla., at Lake City, in the State of Florida on the 14 day of Feby., 1863; that he served faithfully in the said organization until the end of war, 1865, when he was HONORABLY DISCHARGED on account of war closed, at Farmville in the State of Va., and did not desert the Confederate States service or take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. (Here state whether the solider was transferred to another organization, or not, and if captured or imprisoned, state when and where.) He could not aferm [sic] wich [sic] company but does asert [sic] that he was in ninth Fla. Regiment as far as his memory serves him.. I know personally of the above stated service, because I served with ____ in Company H Regiment 9th Fla. of the State of Fla., and was HONOARABLY DISCHARGED at ?, in the State of Va., on the ____ day of April, 1865, by reason of war closed and I did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. CSA, and is reported on roll for Sept. & Oct. 1864, (last on file), absent, sick in hospl; return to duty since muster. Name appears on a list of Confederate prisoners of war paroled at Farmville, Va., between April 11 and 21, 1865. Actual date of parole and date and place of capture not shown. Robert C.
