Included among the capable and progressive business men and bankers of the younger generation in Volusia County is found DARRELL A. WESTON, city treasurer of Seabreeze and cashier of the East Coast Bank and Trust Company. He has been a resident of Daytona Beach since 1912, and during this time has demonstrated the possession of characteristics the nature of which have gained him the confidence and friendship of those with whom he has been associated. Mr. Weston was born at Stanton Junction, Michigan, July 4, 1894, and is a son of F. A. and ANNIE EVA (DENSMORE) WESTON, natives of the same state, the former born in 1870 and the latter in 1872. During the earlier years of his career F. A. WESTON followed railroading, and in addition thereto conducted a general mercantile establishment at Paw Paw, Michigan for 10 years. He disposed of his holdings at that place and in 1912 came to Daytona Beach, where he has since been ticket agent for the East Coast Railroad. During his early years he had been an employee of the Pere Marquette Railway Company. Fraternally he is affiliated with the local lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He and his worthy and estimable wife are members of the Presbyterian Church, and are held in high esteem by those who know them and appreciate their good qualities. DARRELL A. WESTON, the only child of his parents, attended the public schools of Paw Paw, where he was graduated from the high school at the age of eighteen years. He then took a course in drafting in the International Correspondence Schools, and in 1912 accompanied his parents to Florida, since which time he has been a resident of Daytona Beach. At the time of his arrival he secured a position with the freight department of the Florida East Coast Railway, a concern with which he remained until joining the office force of the East Coast Bank and Trust Company in 1918. Mr. Weston was assistant cashier of the bank from 1919 until October, 1921, when ability, industry and fidelity were recognized by his advancement to the post of cashier, in which he has continued to act until the present. This is one of the strong banking institutions of Volusia County and has an excellent reputation. Mr. Weston has played a part in its success, contributing sound banking ability, a pleasing personality and natural courtesy that do much to gain the friendship and confidence of the bank's patrons. In September, 1915, Mr. Weston was united in marriage with Miss MARION I. TARBELL, daughter of HARRY Y. TARBELL, of Daytona Beach, and cousin of IDA M. TARBELL, the noted authoress. To this union there have been born three children: RICHARD, MARGARET and VIRGINIA. Mr. and Mrs. Weston are members of the Presbyterian Church, to the support of which they contribute liberally. He is an active member of the Peninsula Club and works faithfully for all worthy movements. At present he is serving with marked ability in the office of city treasurer of Seabreeze.
