The cemetery existed long before the airport was built and has Civil War Soldiers buried there but their headstones were destroyed and are unmarked. A nice archway was donated and built by the Johns family at the entrance in 1985 in memory of Curtis James Johns who passed away at the early age of 21, I had the pleasure of meeting Libby and Tim Johns and Melody Johns Whitesides the day I visited the cemetery as they were participating in the annual cleanup, The cemetery is well taken care of. My reason to visit was to try and locate my gr-gr-grandmothers headstone but she doesn't have one so I am now trying to find records of where she is buried in the cemetery to place one for her.
