One Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-four, personally appeared before me, a notary public in and for the County and State aforesaid Martha Alsobrooks a resident of Wausau County of Washington State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of the General Pension Laws of Florida as amended by Chapter 8400, Acts of 1921. That she is the lawful widow of Isiah Alsobrooks who enlisted under the name of Isiah Alsobrooks on the 20 day of March, 1862, in Company K 6th Regiment of the State of Florida and who was honorably discharged at ?ville, Fla., 186_. That she was lawfully married to the said Isiah Alsobrooks under the name of Martha Gilmore in the County of Washington State of Florida on the ____ day of ____, and that she was not divorced from him before nor has she remarried since his death, which occurred on the ____ day of ____, 1___, in the County of Washington State of Florida except as hereinafter stated. That she is a resident of Washington County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ____ day of about forty years. That she was heretofore granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. ____. That she is not a pensioner of any other State. The name Isaiah (or Izrab) Alsobrook has not been found on the rolls of any Co. of the 6th Fla. Infy. CSA. The records show, however, that a man named Isaiah L. Alsobrook enlisted Mch. 8, 1862 at Vernon, Fla., as a private in Co. K, 6th Fla. Infy, CSA, and is reported on roll for Nov. & Dec. 1863, absent without leave in Fla. since Dec. 1862. Roll for Jan. & Feb. 1864, (last roll of Co. on file), shows him deserted Dec. 1862. No prisoner of war or later record found. Robert C. For this reason the Board has been forced to deny your application.
