Directions: 10 miles northeast of Baxley near Willow Lake and Buckhorn Bluff. Note: The cemetery was visited by me in the 1970’s. After that it became abandoned until the property owner sold the land to the Rayonier Paper Company. Their surveyors found the cemetery, cleaned and fenced it. I have photos of my visit showing the tombstones of Harriet Blitch and Turby Thomas. Other graves are apparent but only one is known, that of Martha E Wolfe. Someone has erected white crosses on some of the grave sites. BLITCH, Harriet 25 January 1814 - 12 November 1877 (Wife of Rev. Benjamin Blitch and daughter of Luke Wilson and Patience Crawford Wilson). Born and married in Effingham County, GA. THOMAS, Turby F. “Born in Burke County GA. December 7, 1796. Died March 22, 1845. He was a soldier in the War of 1812 and a Whig of 1840.” WOLFE, Martha E. 1859 - 29 March 1892 (Sister of Robert Thomas Wolfe).
