Sessom, Ga Resident of this county all my life since about 1834. Born in Telfair Co Ga about 1834. Husband, born in Appling County about 1830, Henry J. Taylor Married in Telfair County about 1856 He went to Co F 47th reg GA Vol in 64 [Served] to the surrender of Gen J.E. Johnston 13 of April 1865. Discharged in North Carolina April 1865 He was present with his company at the time of surrender. Died Appling Co, April 20, 1856 [basis for application] Age and poverty [length of condition] nearly ten years [occupation] working about in the house and sew a little [how much can you earn] very little [property] nothing Had 1 horse (?house) when husband died and it ? was all he left Resided in Appling County GA Returned nothing in tax. Supported myself by my children in all my chances of support Don't know, my children support me. Had no employment and ? nothing Have none. Children all grown. Never applied for pension before. Subscribed 29 January 1911 Kissie X Taylor (her mark) A.M. Crosby, Ordinary of Appling County Questions for Witnesses James S. Patterson in support of Kissira Taylor. I Reside in Basley (Baxley?) Appling co. Known Kissira nearly 50 years. She lived in Appling County and in state all her life. I was acquainted with her husband who was in Appling county in 1861. Kissira Hays, don't recall the date Appling Co about 70 years ago Henry J. Taylor enlisted. He came to Co F 45th ? Reg in 1864. I was 2nd Lieut of same co. He served 6 or 8 month in my Com. Company discharged in North Carolina by surrender of Gen Johnston I was not with ? when surrendered. widow of Henry J Taylor I do know they lived together until death. She has remained unmarried. Don't know of any property. Physical condition. Very feelbe and a very poor chance for her to earny anything.
