Erma T. Mixon

Mrs. Elma T. Mixon of  FItzgerald died Wednesday, September 23, 1998, 
at Dorminy Medical Center. She was 89.

Mrs. Mixon was born October 22, 1908, in Irwin County, the daughter 
of W. M. and Miriam Tucker. She was a homemaker . and had lived in Ben 
Hill County for the past 50 years. She was a member of Brushy Creek 
Primitive Baptist Church of Irwin County.    '"    _

Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Mixon and one 
son, Bobby Mixon.

Survivors include one daughter, Faye Smith of Fitzgerald;three sons, 
Herman Mixon of Ocilla, Jerry Mixon of Hinesville and Wayne "Yogie" 
Mixon of Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two 
brothers, C. L. Tucker of McRae and Donald Tucker of Cordele;  two 
sisters, Mildred Roberts of  Ocilla and Bertie Parker of Clayton.

Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel of Fitzgerald on 
Friday, September 25 at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Keith Maxwell officiating. 

Lee Shinholster gave the eulogy.   

Music was provided by pianist, Donna Maxwell; soloist, Lee Shinholster 
and trumpeter, Travis Shinholster.

Pallbearers were Carroll Mixon, Mike Mixon, Lee Shinholster, Bryan 
Golden, James Mixon and Tom Golden.

Interment was held at Brushy Creek Cemetery of Irwin County.

Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
