WOLFE The Baxley News-Banner February 12, 1962 Funeral services for Robert S. Wolfe, 72, who died Saturday morning (February 10th) after an extended illness at the Georgia Baptist Hospital were held from the First Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Rev. Hugh P. Garner was in charge, assisted by Rev. J.E. Davis. Interment was in the Ten Mile cemetery, with Masonic rites at the graveside. A retired teacher, he had taught 35 years in Appling County schools. He was acting postmaster at Surrency for several years and was a member of the Appling County Board of Registrars. A native of Appling County, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he taught a Bible class, and was a member of Holmesville Lodge No. 195 F. and A. M. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Allie Dubberly Wolfe; six sons, G.M. Wolfe, Miami, William W. Wolfe of Jacksonville, J.W. and Warren Wolfe of Valdosta, Charles A. Wolfe of Waycross, Jerry Wolfe of Baxley; five daughters, Mrs. S.A. Mowrey of Miami, Mrs. E.A. McKenzie of Hawkinsville, Mrs. J.H. Moreland of Sedley, Va., Mrs. H.R. Strange of Portsmouth, VA, Mrs. E.K. Tillman of Atlanta; a brother, Ben Wolfe; 25 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Leroy Dubberly, Raymond Gibson, Joe Dubberly, Wayne Mixon, Cecil Dubberly and Waymond Mixon. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Carson, Seab Craven, Bob Willliams, Simon Wooten, Winton Altman, Marshall Griffis, L.M. Jones, T.I. Dixon, Curtis Hamilton, Bobby Branch, William Hutchinson, Lenox Morris, Dorris Wood, Jinny Craven, Staten Lewis, R.L. Leis, Hovis Floyd, Buck Carson, Wallace Tilllman, Hershel Tillman, T.J.
