I John Doyl of the State of So Carolina and Darlington Distric5t being in a low State of bodily health but in my perfect mind & memory do constitute and ordain this my last will & testament as follows. In the first place I command my Soul to God who gave it in hope of a Joyful resurrection at the last Judgement through the Redeemer. And as to this worlds affairs I wish my Body to be decently interred after the common custom; in the next place as to the property it has pleased God to bestow on me I wish it disposed of as here after mentioned: In the first place I will & bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Doyl three head of horses, one cow, an yeling, three head of sheep and all the money that is due with all the household and kitchen furniture and plantation tools until hir death and after hir death the property to be sold and the money that is due me now I desire it to be laid out in land for my two youngest sons Elias & Enor Doyl and the above property to be divided Equally between all of my children. In the second place I will to my beloved sons Elias & Enor Doyl all the stock of cattle and hogs formerly called theirs & is their heirs and as signs forever this the 4th day of March 1817 John Doyl (his mark). Sined in the presence of James Watson, Thomas Meltar, Shephard Ruffun. Recorded in Will Book 4 Page 169 Recorded 17th March 1917 Geo Bruce Ordinary D.D. Additional Comments: This was transcribed from a typed transcription, date unknown. There are multiple misspellings and I do not know if these were included in the original will or were made by the original transcriber. The spelling of "Doyl" has been recorded as Doyle, Dial, Dyall, and Dyal. His children spelled their name Dyall and subsequent generations dropped the second "L" and used the spelling "Dyal". I have always seen his youngest son's name spelled "Enoch" instead of "Enor". Again, I do not know if this was an error made by the original transcriber or if his name is actually "Enor".
