Atkinson County Citizen - December 26, 2013
 Mr. Jerry Anderson age 68 of Axson, GA passed away Wednesday, December 18, 
2013, at Coffee Regional Hospital in Douglas, GA following an extended illness.

Born August 12, 1945, in Atkinson County, Mr. Anderson was the son of the late 
Henry and Thelma Bowen Anderson. He had worked as a construction worker for most 
of his life.

 Survivors include: wife, Jacqueline Purvis Anderson of Axson, GA; son Gary 
Anderson of Axson, GA; 3 daughters, Kathy Jordan and husband Sandy of Axson, GA, 
Katherine Jordan and husband Steve of Axson, GA, Denise Zanders and husband 
David of Douglas, GA; brother, Julian Anderson and wife Martha of Dupont, GA; 2 
sisters, Shirlene Branch and husband Chris of Pearson, GA, Shirley Propes of 
Cartersville, GA; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces 
and nephews also survive.

 Graveside funeral services for Mr. Anderson were held at 2 p.m. Friday, 
December 20, 2013, at Sunnyside Cemetery with Rev. Sim Youngblood and Rev. Clyde 
Purvis officiating. Special musical selections, “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Go Rest 
High on That Mountain” and “Daddy’s Hands” were rendered by CD. 

 The interment followed in the Sunnyside Cemetery.

 Active pallbearers were Allie Purvis, Tally Purvis, Wendell Purvis, Paul 
Purvis, Cager Purvis, Josh Jordan.

 Honorary pallbearers were Sandy Jordan and David Zanders.

 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA was in charge of arrangements.
