Atkinson County Citizen - December 2007
Willene Arnold, 65, of Pearson died December 17, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in 
Atlanta following an extended illness.
 A native of Atkinson County, she was born February 8, 1942, daughter of Allen 
and Dorothy Stevens Davis. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a 
son, James Gary Arnold, a grandson, Andy Barlow, and a sister, Betty Carrolyn 
Davis.
 Survivors include her husband, Willie Arnold of Pearson; two sons, Terry 
Arnold and wife, Darla, of Nashville and Jerry Arnold of Pearson; three 
daughters, Willie Mae Barlow and husband, Irby, Brenda Starr and Stormy 
Arnold, all of Pearson; five brothers, Orville Davis of Vidalia, Allen Davis 
and Benny Davis, both of Waycross, Jimmy Davis and Elie Batten, both of 
Pearson; three sisters, Allene Bennett of Waycross, Geraldine Flowers of 
Jesup, Collene Stone of Pearson.
 Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on December 20 at Pearson Church of God 
of Prophecy with Rev. Hardy Crosby officiating. Musical selections 
included "Go Rest High on That Mountain" rendered Kevin Batten, with tape 
accompaniment, and "Amazing Grace" rendered acappella by Stanley Gurley.
 Interment followed in Tanner Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers were Keith Haskins, Henry Haskins, Derrell Davis, George 
Arnold, Bill Bowen, and Joey Courson.
 Honorary pallbearers were Kyle Starr, Kevin Arnold, James Robert Starr, Zach 
Arnold, Isaac Barlow, Christopher Arnold, Gary Purvis and Cook County 
Sheriff's office personnel.
 Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of arrangements.
