A native of Ware County, GA, Mr. Bennett was born on September 4, 1918, son of Cerico and Morning O’Berry Bennett. Mr. Bennett worked in turpentine and l logging for many years before retiring and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. B Bennett was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Bailey Bennett and 5 g grandchildren, James Terry Horton, Clifford Bennett, Mary Annette Taft, Paul H Hall and Aidriana Bennett. Survivors include sons, William Bennett and wife Mary of Pearson, GA and Jack Bennett of Pearson, GA; 4 daughters, Elizabeth Taft husband Fred of Axson, GA, Virginia Horton and husband Olen of Willacoochee, GA, Marie Steverson of Homerville, GA and Morning Smith and husband Bennie of Douglas, GA; 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; several n nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Bennett were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy in Millwood, GA with Rev. Clyde Purvis and Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Special musical selections were “Daddy’s Hands,” “Angels Band,” and “I’ll Fly Away” rendered by Diane Cha Chambliss with guitar accompaniment. Soft music for prelude and postlude was pro provided by Diane Chambliss. The interment followed in Mt. Green Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Ellie Morris, Kinky Mathews, Dougal Gillis, Ju Julian Haskins, Tommy Deems, Chester Brown. Relihan Funeral home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
