Atkinson County Citizen - October 31, 2013
 Mr. Billy Elton Bennett, 67, of Laurel Hills, NC, formerly of Atkinson County 
passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Southeastern Hospice in Lumberton, NC 
following an extended illness.

 Born May 31, 1946, in Atkinson County, Mr. Bennett was the son of the late 
Fannie Bell Guess and Frank Bennett. He had made his home in Atkinson County for 
most of his life. He worked in the mobile home industry and the pine straw 
industry for many years and also operated a service station in Pearson for many 
years.
 
 He loved the outdoors and was known as a hard working man. He was preceded in 
death by his stepmother, Stella Mae Bennett, sister, Judy Bennett, 2 brothers, 
Lavon Bennett and James Edge and a grandson, Nathan Bennett.

 He is survived by his daughter, Chastity Luke and husband, Travis Lowery from 
Laurel Hill, NC; three sons, Tommy Bennett and Frankie Bennett of Alabama and 
Michael Bennett of Pearson, GA; six brothers, Buck Bennett and wife Trish, Gene 
Edge and wife Trisha, Frankie Mae Bennett, Johnny Edge, Bobby Edge, Wayne Edge; 
12 grandchildren and several nieces also survive.
 
 A memorial service for Mr. Bennett will be held at a later date.
