Atkinson County Citizen - July 27, 2006
 Mary Louise Bernard, 69, passed away on July 19, 2006, the Lord called his 
faithful servant home, Mary (Ma) was born in Nashville, GA on the 11th day of 
April 1937 and passed away after a lengthy illness.
 She was preceded by her parents, O.B. and Adel Luke, brothers, Harry, Buddy, 
Wilton and Kenny Luke, sisters, Sara Corbitt and Debbie Lube, daughter, Brenda 
Dillingham and son, Baby Joseph.
 She leaves behind her husband William Bernard (Gramp), 5 sisters Nita (Bert), 
Joyce (Lamar), Linda (Dan), Doris (Sammy), Martha; two children, Herman 
Dillingham (Linda) and Glenda Hickox (David); two grandchildren, David William 
Hickox (Desiree) and Glynn Hickox; 4 great-grandchildren, Ashlinne Hickox, 
Deanna Hickox, Maria Brown and David Wes Hickox. Along with numerous"adopted" 
grandkids-as it was always said by her daughter Glenda, "Ma should have a sign 
about her door that says 'Ma's safe Haven'."
 She truly a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will 
be forever missed and cherished for all the days of our lives.
 A funeral mass was held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King 
Catholic Church with Father Thanh Nyguyen as the Celebrant. The family received 
friends Sunday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home.
 Interment was at Arlington Park Cemetery.
