Blue, 72, of Fitzgerald died September 24, 2011 at the Life Care C Center in Fitzgerald. He was born September 26, 1938 in Ashburn to the late John Ossie and Sallie Magular Blue. He graduated from Ashburn High School in 1957 and moved to Fitzgerald in 1960, living the remainder of his life here. He was a veteran of the Army Reserve. Mr. Blue was a route driver for Tom’s Foods for almost 30 y years and also sold insurance for Liberty National. He was a member of Central U United Methodist Church. Mr. Blue was a former Boy Scout leader, former member o of the Auxiliary Police of Fitzgerald and former volunteer at SAM Short Line in C Cordele. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Steve) Griffin, Pam (Glenn) Holley and Angela Blue, all of Fitzgerald; grandsons, Christian Blue and John David Grantham and finance, Katrina Hulett; step-son, Lamar (Dianne) McDonald of Fitzgerald; step-daughter, Lynn (Jerry) Morris of Alapaha; grandchildren, Wesley, Levi and Johnny Holley; step-great grandchildren, Nathan Holley and Savannah Hernandez; six step-grandchildren, Jason (Lori) McDonald of Fitzgerald, Jennifer (Billy) Mix of Gray, Regina (Matt) Kimbrell of Nashville, Shauna (Ed) Branch of Lake Park, Justin McDonald and Josh McDonald, both of Fitzgerald; 10 step-great-grandchildren, Jackson, Lyndsee, Kaylee, Tucker, Ella K Kate, Luke Abby Lane, Leigha, Lindy and Eva Joleigh; brother, Walter Newell B Blue of Apollo Beach, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews; special f friends, Robert and Sarah Buice. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice “Bea” Blue; two step Blue; two step-sons, Ashley and Lanier McDonald; two sisters, Cora Matthews and J Jacquelyn Blue, and brothers, Augusta Blue and Oliver Blue. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on September 27 at Spring Head United Methosidt Church Cemetery in Atkinson County with the Revs. Keith Goodlett, Godfrey O’Rear and Tom Hunt officiating. Paulk Funeral Funeral Home of Fitzgerald was in charge of arrangements.
