Atkinson County Citizen - August 30, 2007
 Mr. Sidney E. Boone, age 67, of Axson passed away Friday afternoon, August 17, 
2007, at the South Georgia Medical Center, in Valdosta, following a short 
illness.
 Mr. Boone, a native of Atkinson County, was a prominent Farmer of the Axson 
Community. He was the son of the late Homer Boone and the late Ruth Weathers 
Boone. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, after serving his country for over 
20 years. He was a member of the DAV. Mr. Boone was of the Protestant faith.
 Survivors include his wife, Margaret Moore Boone of Axson, GA; daughters, Kim 
Mullis of Axson, GA and Karen Boone of Hialeah, FL; sons, Gregory Boone of 
Byron, Minn, and Donald Boone of Douglas, GA; sister, Lelia Boone of Douglas; 
brother, Dr. Gordon Boone of Douglas, GA; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and 
nephews, and other relatives.
 Military graveside services and interment were held Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 
3 p.m. at the Satilla Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating.
 Moody Air Force Base of Valdosta, provided the personnel for casket bearers, 
firing party, flag detail and taps.
 Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
