Born May 31, 1952, in Coffee County, GA., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Riley Jr. (J.R.) and Hazel Harper Burch. She worked for many years as bookkeeper for Charles Lewis Construction Company before poor health forced her into retirement. Sandra Gail was a member of Axson Church of God of Prophecy. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Marie Bridges. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Barlow and husband Wendell of Axson, Kimberly Chavis and husband Rob of Axson; three brothers, Jerry Burch of Axson, Johnny Burch and wife Gail of Axson, Larry Burch of Axson; three grandchildren, Kirk Barlow and wife April, Britiany Freeman and husband Josh, Colby McBrayer, three great-grandchildren, Rachael Freeman, Ivey Barlow, and Ethan Freeman. Funeral services for Sandra Gail were held Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Axson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Keith Burch, Rev. Newton Cox, Rev. Chris Boyd and Rev. Rob Hutto officiating. The Eulogy was given by Gloria Davison and Shirley Ann Flowers. Special musical selections included, “It’s Wonderful to know He’s Mine” rendered by soloist Britt Peavy accompanied by Olin Greer, pianist, and “Amazing Grace” rendered by the congregation with Loretta Boyd leading those in attendance and Lynda Burch at the piano. Soft music for the prelude and postlude was provided by Lynda Burch. The Interment followed in Axson Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Newton Cox, Kenneth Burch, Johnny Burch, Jr., Keith Burch, Marvin McDaniel, Chris Boyd. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Glenda Lang, Nell Sturgis, Marie Stone, Gloria Davison, Joan Rickerson, Shirley Ann Flowers, Donna Faye Shrouder and members of the Axson Church of God of Prophecy.
