Atkinson County Citizen - April 23, 2009
  Anne Mary Evans Corbett died April 15, 2009, at Presbyterian Retirement Home 
in Quitman at age 9l. She was born May 16, 1917, in Coolidge, Thomas County, 
Ga. and lived in Pearson, Ga., from l938 to 2002. Her parents were Emory Luther 
and Callye Cay Evans. Anne Mary attended GSWC in Valdosta, graduated from the 
University of Georgia and was a teacher at Pearson High School before her 
marriage to Thomas Corbett. She worked with her husband in their family 
business, The Corbett Bank, until l964. She was a member of First Baptist 
Church in Pearson. 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Bill Thomas of 
Valdosta; two grandchildren and their spouses, Suzanne and David Withers of Mt. 
Pleasant, S.C., Jason and Shannon Thomas of Athens, Ga. 

"Mae" was a very faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother with a 
delightful sense of humor and winning smile. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Thomas Corbett; and grandson, Jeff Thomas. 

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Friday at Relihan Funeral Home in 
Pearson. Afterwards there will be a private family graveside service in 
Sweetwater Cemetery. - Relihan Funeral Home, Pearson
